Calling for person who has never lived here.

Received an email to call Audrey at this number. She said there was an issue with medicare signup. I called number. Man answered with "Hello". I asked for Audrey. He first said I had wrong number. Then he said there were 70 people working in the office so perhaps I had right number. Then he asked for my SS number. I told him I wouldn't give it to him as I've been targeted lately with email fishing scams. I hung up. I responded back to Audrey via email and asked her to tell me in an email what the issue is. That was 24 hours ago, no response. I did apply for medicare earlier this week. If I ignore other people's comments here, then I don't know if it is a scam. But I'm concerned......

Sent me a letter dated January 26, 2018, with Social Security Administration letterhead (Retirement, Survivors, and Disability Insurance, 500 Lead Ave SW, Albuquerque, NM 87102-3314) asking me to call Cameron Clark at this number (855-257-0343) in order to talk about my "application for retirement benefits." Actual number for the Albuquerque Social Security Office on Lead Avenue is 800-772-1213. I am a resident of Washington State and have never applied for social security benefits.

Received a letter from the Social Security Administration that I had filed a claim for retirement benefits online. I called, explained that I had not filed a claim and asked for the person indicated in the letter. The representative asked for my SSN and phone number then informed me that the representative I requested is not available, and I should receive a call back in 24 hours. I grew suspicious and check the address, which is the SS office in Albuquerque. When I checked the phone number, I learned that I had been scammed.

WILL ASK FOR SOCIAL SECURITY INFO

Received 2 e-mails from ssa.gov telling me to call this number, and that I had filled out my Medicare forms wrong. It is not the same number on the forms I filled out. DON'T CALL!!!

Gave my SSA # as the person said their name was Mike and he needed more info to process my claim for benefits!!!

I am devastated as I gave out valuable SSN information. Received an email with the address of jeff.ronigene.ssa.org
