Evansville is a city in and the county seat of Vanderburgh County, Indiana, United States. The population was 117,429 at the 2010 census. As the state's third-largest city and the largest city in Southern Indiana, it is the commercial, medical, and cultural hub of Southwestern Indiana and the Illinois-Indiana-Kentucky tri-state area, home to over 911,000 people. Bloomington is a city in and the county seat of Monroe County in the southern region of the U.S. state of Indiana. Terre Haute is a city in and the county seat of Vigo County, Indiana, United States, near the state's western border with Illinois. As of the 2010 census, the city had a total population of 60,785 and its metropolitan area had a population of 170,943.Located along the Wabash River, Terre Haute is the self-proclaimed capital of the Wabash Valley. The city is home to several higher education institutions, including Indiana State University, Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College, and Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology. Terre Haute is notable for being the home of Socialist Party of America leader and five-time presidential nominee, Eugene V. Debs and the Federal Correctional Complex.
